This exhibition was the first of its kind in the UK. Alicia thought it was worthy of a 3 month series of events for its Cartwright Hall stage of its tour, and personally created & managed the whole programme, which ranged from street casting style icons for a vibrant fashion show, to choreographing dance pieces, writing educational workshops, sourcing and managing sponsorship, hiring DJs, singers, top models, choirs and making a film to celebrate it all. It was cited by the main sponsor agency as the best event series in the national tour, and the images went onto inspire the visuals for Beyonce & Jay Z’s album The Carters.
